Society of Porter Scholars
About
The Society of Porter Scholars is the largest scholarship organization at the University of Louisville. Named after the former trustee, the late Woodford R. Porter, during his time serving at the university. A strong advocate for education in Jefferson County, he was known for his dedication and passion for the cause. In 1985, the Society of Porter Scholars was created to support those students awarded the scholarship. To support its members and the larger campus community, the Society of Porter Scholars hosts a number of events that focus on four pillars: scholarship, leadership, service, and heritage.
